Bio-farming & Harvest-to-Community Training Initiative
“Vertical farming with Aeroponic Towers”
The Bio-farming & Harvest-to-Community Program is a trauma-informed, vocational day treatment model that empowers individuals in recovery—particularly those transitioning from rehab, eating disorder programs, or mental health residential systems—to reclaim purpose, stability, and self-sufficiency through hands-on agricultural training and produce distribution management.
This program fuses Bio-farming education with real-world harvest logistics, teaching participants the full life cycle of organic, medicinal, and therapeutic crops—from strategic crop planning and;\ sustainable planting methods to coordinated harvesting, product sorting, packaging, and retail transition. Participants will gain core competencies in farming operations, community food access, and cooperative business models.
Through this immersive program, students will:
• Plan, manage, and execute harvest rotations based on seasonal cycles, soil health, and nutritional value.
• Participate in organized harvest-picking operations, learning standards for food safety, handling, and crop sorting.
• Engage in a mock grocery store set-up, where harvested goods are processed, labeled, and displayed as part of a real-time farm-to-table training system.
• Learn basic skills in supply chain logistics, shelf-life evaluation, community food service, and donation planning.
A unique feature of the program is its Community Share Redistribution Plan:
•A percentage of all farm stand and retail proceeds will be reinvested directly back into the program to sustain equipment, seed costs, and participant stipends.
•The remaining proceeds and excess harvest will be donated to low-income families, food-insecure seniors, and underserved neighborhoods identified through local partnerships, clinics, and shelters.
g.Participants in the program will also be entitled to take home fresh, organic produce weekly, supporting their nutritional recovery and helping stabilize their food security in the following living environments:
• Group homes
• Assisted living centers
• Sober living environments
• Independent apartments
